IDS/IDWB and internships in the Bachelor's degree programs

According to the study and examination regulations for the Bachelor's degree programs (2008, 2010 or 2012), an interdisciplinary elective area (“interdisziplinärer Wahlbereich”, IDS/IDWB) and an internship (“Praktikum”) must be completed in addition to the first and second subject. Please refer to the official documents on the homepage of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (“Programmes of Study” section) for the regulations applicable to your respective SPO.

Internship (“Praktikum”) in the module teaching skills ("Modul Vermittlungskompetenz")

As part of the Bachelor's degree program, students must complete an internship (“Praktikum”) lasting at least two weeks. Students choose their own internship position, which should be based on professional expectations. This also means that English does not necessarily have to be spoken or taught, but rather the content of the internship (press, culture, literature, event organization, archive work, media, etc.). Afterwards, a short report (approx. 1500 - 2000 words / German or English) must be submitted, which introduces the internship institution and the activity and then evaluates it.
