Accessibility
Conference Venue
The conference will take place in the university's main building, which is located within Rostock's city centre and a short walking distance from tram stop, "Lange Straße." The building is fitted with accessible entries, ramps, elevators, and toilet facilities. There is a map of the venue in the pdf-program.
For full details of transport options, please head to "Traveling to and around Rostock" on the conference site pages.
If you have a particular request with regards to accessibility, please don't hesitate to contact us dgfa2023uni-rostockde.
COVID-19 Precautions
According to current regulations, you are not obliged to wear masks indoors. However, out of consideration for one another, our recommendations are to wear a mask in enclosed spaces, to maintain distance, to ensure thorough handwashing, and to cough or sneeze into a tissue. In seminar rooms, please ventilate regularly or simply leave windows open. Speakers may, of course, take off their masks if they feel comfortable doing so.
Day Care
In cooperation with Rostock University's Family Office, we will be able to offer free daycare for presenters' and participants' children (between the ages of 0-10). The service will be located in close proximity to the conference venue, with one licensed professional assigned to each group of three children.
As there are six spaces available only, please register by 30th April at dgfa2023@uni-rostock.de. In your email please include the days you will require the service, for how many children and for how many hours.
Peace and Quiet
There will be a designated quiet room to provide respite from the hustle and bustle of the conference. Rostock is also a city full of parks and green spaces, one being only a couple of minutes walk from our venue. Please don't hesitate to reach out to any of our team who will be more than happy to help you find a little calm in the city.
Remote Access
Keynote presentations and the Current Events panel will be recorded for those who cannot attend the meeting in person.
Safer Space for BIPOC members of the GAAS
There will be a room allocated as a safer space for BIPOC members of the GAAS to connect and chat during the conference.
Would You Like Assistance?
If you require any assistance organising your arrival and/or conference participation, do please get in touch. For example, there will be a group of students who can support those with specific needs getting around Rostock (e.g. train station to hotel pick-up and drop-off, and social program attendance).
For further information, and/or to register interest in advance, simply contact us at dgfa2023@uni-rostock.de by 30th April. Alternatively, please speak with any member of our team at any time during the conference.
